Why call when you can Chat…..

Obligation, arm twisting and team competitiveness wins every time and prompts the writing of this blog about Live Chat.
I fit into that over 50, somewhat limited tech savvy personification. I asked my co-workers "why Chat when you can pick-up the phone and call". At least that was what I thought ....
My mind-set has changed drastically. With all the accessories to assist in multi-tasking these days I have found a flaw in my personality. "I HATE TO WAIT!" Even the fast food drive thru is too slow for me. When it comes to getting answers what use to be my first reaction was the telephone, has now become the last. Who wants to dial the number, WAIT for the operator or auto-attendant to answer, to be put on hold or caught in the electronic passing game of automated phone systems and happy greeting voice mails that you can't escape. At the touch of a button you can be connected to a Live Chat Operator who will get you the answers every time.
I will be the first to admit I was apprehensive to click on the "Live Chat/Operator Online" button, but I needed an answer, the clock was ticking and I couldn't wait. One click was all it took and I was hooked. The operator responded and got me my answer within a few key strokes - the international package that "has to be there" was on its way with the reassurance that it would be delivered without any delays. WOW - there I was a satisfied customer and a hooked customer - they have my business from now on. How easy it was with just a few key strokes to develop that kind of relationship and trust.
Does one experience make me a believer - NO but it was a good start. Every opportunity I have to click the "Live Chat" button I take and have not been disappointed in the results yet. It has given me the opportunity to save me both time and money by requesting price quotes, inventory checks on close-out or special priced items, suggested alternate options when the item I want is out of stock, answers to questions during those late night shopping sprees and even recommendations for insurance purchases. Quick and easy! Does it replace the phone? You be the judge and just click!
