What Is Lorem Ipsum?

What is Lorem ipsum? 
As stated on the Lorem Ipsum website, Lorem Ipsum is the industry’s standard dummy text used for the printing and typesetting industry. It has survived through five centuries and came into the electronic typesetting unchanged.

For the common folks, Lorem ipsum may not have any meaning. For others, Loriem Ipsum does not represnt random text but it has meaning and has a history with classical Latin literature dating back as far as 45 BC.

Why Is It Used Throughout The Creative Industry?

Often times when a client reviews their creative piece, they will focus and invest some of their time on the content that’s presented to them. They will seek out misspelled words, look for grammatical and punctuational errors. They will nit-pick and change content back and forth, delete a few and add a few sentences and paragraphs, etc. The total amount of time spent on unnecessary content changes can delay a project for several days, even if the content will be looked at another time.

So with the use of Lorem ipsum, it redirects the attention and focus on the design, colors, shapes, and overall layout. As stated on the site, “the point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using “Content here, content here”, making it look like readable text.”
