Top Five Pages Every Website Should Include

Jul 15, 2009 12:55 pm by Kate Rafko

A successful website will stand out from the crowd; it features a unique design and interesting content. However, there are some pages that every website should include no matter what products or services are offered. Your site visitors will be looking for these...

1. Home - A home page is an obvious necessity of every website. Website visitors should be able to tell within seconds of visiting your home page what your company does. The home page should also have a call to action - what do you want site visitors to do next?

2. About Us -
Your site should have a quick place for visitors to read more information about your company - its history, employees, and services. When customers feel as if they know you, they're more likely to purchase your products and services.

3. Contact Us -
Give your customers easy-to-find contact information. Contact information that is buried in the site can frustrate and deter customers. It's also wise to include a capture form so that they can easily email you their question or comment no matter what time of day.

4. Sitemap -
A sitemap is an outline of all of the pages on your website. It allows visitors to quickly find a particular page if they cannot find it within the navigation; and, the text-based links provide search engines with access to crawl all of the pages on your website. Give your customers and search engines a map to help them find their way!

5. Privacy Policy -
Privacy is a very important topic these days. Make sure that you let your customers know how much information your site will be collecting from them and how it will be used. They have a right to know.
