Let’s Go ‘Kamping’
Sep 25, 2009 10:24 pm by Steve AllinghamWouldn’t you like to know what visitors to your site are thinking? Certainly an unhappy or pleased visitor could email you through your capture form, but I’ve discovered a better way. One of my clients turned me on to a new program; it’s great for all flavors of sites, but extraordinarily important for ecommerce sites.
It’s offered by a company called Kampyle.com and you can read more about them here. By embedding a bit of code into your website a helpful, but unobtrusive icon appears allowing site visitors the opportunity to offer helpful critiques, criticisms, or compliments, anonymously if desired.
I wasn’t sure how this would work until I saw it in action. Click the small triangle in the lower right-hand corner of one of these sites to try it out:
A window pops up asking you to rate the site, using faces; growly for a bad experience, grinning for a great experience and everything in between. Then, visitors can also select if they have a bug to report; want to post a question regarding site content; have a suggestion; or want to post a compliment or other feedback item. Visitors have the option of including their email address or not.
There is a handy “dashboard” that the site owner can login to on the Kampyle site with a
graph showing form traffic; number of feedback items; most reported feedback item; average time on site before feedback was made; the average feedback grade; geographic distribution; feedback by category; feedback by status; and most importantly, the actual feedback provided by the site visitor along with the page they were on when the clicked the feedback icon. In short, a lot of very helpful information.
You can sign up for various levels of the feedback form, from the free version with the reports mentioned above, to the “Platinum” version costing $999 per month. Each step up the price chain offers increasingly more amazing analytics, such as in-depth user info and integration with Google Analytics, along with many options for the feedback form itself.
Sitepro is partnering with Kampyle to offer their services to our customers. We’ll help you choose the monthly plan that best fits your needs and your pocketbook, and integrate the program into your website for a low one-time fee.
You can’t afford not to know what your site visitors are thinking and Kampyle is a proven way to capture their feedback.
