NoRecessionOnline.com
Mar 6, 2009 4:30 pm by Mike PhillipsWelcome to our new website "No Recession Online". This website is about hope and optimism. Every day we're immersed in negative news about the economy, lost jobs, housing foreclosures, bailouts... it's enough to keep you from getting out of bed in the morning. Certainly these are real concerns affecting millions of Americans. However, the fact remains that it's not all bad news. There are positive, inspiring stories that we hear every day. I want to share some of these stories with you.
Our company, Sitepro.com, is a website development company. We build websites for a wide variety of businesses. Certainly, not all of our clients are "booming", but there is a significant number that are! Before I go one step further with my story, I must emphasize that the act of building a website to sell "stuff" online is absolutely no guarantee of success. In fact, If you're looking for a "get rich quick" idea, this isn't it.
"No Recession Online" however is a collection of case studies about everyday people who work hard, produce a product or service and deliver that product or service to online buyers. Because we have the unique opportunity to observe this cross section of businesses in action, we see and hear success stories almost every day. Some are small successes while others... hit the ball out of the park!
Because we respect the privacy of our clients, we are somewhat limited in the descriptions we can provide about individual cases though there is enough to accomplish our mission, sharing hope.
I've just returned from a large convention where we were working with one of Sitepro's premiere manufacturing clients. Several of us from Sitepro were there to introduce this manufacturer's distributors to selling online. While selling online is not new, many distributors were new to this marketing channel.
The story we heard repeatedly was the growing importance of selling online in the face of a challenging economy. While selling from traditional brick-and-mortar locations for some was just "OK", the "e-tailers" told us they were continuing to enjoy growth online.
This is only the latest example of success stories we hear every day. "NoRecessionOnline.com" was built to share these very types of stories. Does that mean that building an online e-store is a guarantee of commercial success? Not at all. The successful e-tailers we talk with work hard at keeping their sites updated and competitive. They are marketing their sites regularly and treat their customers like gold.
"NoRecessionOnline.com" speaks to the convenience, selection, quality, value and search-ability found on today's best e-commerce sites. It in no way suggests a "build it and they will come" or "get rich quick" business model. In fact our "e-tailers" tell us they work as hard or harder at their virtual stores as their brick and mortar stores. The good news is that in many cases, online sales continue to enjoy growth, in some cases double digit growth. There is ample research available that supports this performance across a broad selection of e-commerce categories.
We built "NoRecessionOnline.com" as a way to highlight the many success stories from "the big guys" like Amazon.com to small "e-tailers". We're hopeful that many of you who are doing well online will share your successes. Like Colonel Sanders we know you may not want to share your "secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices", but we hope you might be willing to share the basics that have made your website successful.
You can email your success story to Success Stores and we'll pass on the good news.
