LUBBOCK, TEXAS — Lubbock-based SitePro, one of the nation’s top providers of cloud-based fluid management and IoT automation software, is now providing real-time monitoring, data collection, and control to the Texas Tech Bob L. Herd Department of Petroleum Engineering — an internationally-recognized research institution ranked among the best in the nation.
The industrial automation software system was installed at the department’s research facility, where students use SitePro’s software to collect and analyze data for their studies.
“Energy Starts Here” is the defining header on the Texas Tech Bob L. Herd Department of Petroleum Engineering’s website, and for good reason. As one of the nation’s top petroleum engineering programs, the department’s research areas span carbon-zero hydrogen production, fiber optic sensing, and much more.

Showing a commitment to the next generation of engineers, SitePro offered the system to the school for use in its research facility. Students in the program will gain firsthand exposure to industrial automation systems and work directly with SitePro’s software as part of their coursework and research.
“Investing in the next generation of engineers is something we’re deeply passionate about,” said SitePro CEO David Bateman. “By giving these students direct access to our automation systems and software,we’re not just supporting their education, we’re helping shape the future of the industry.”
When Texas Tech Petroleum Engineering reached out to discuss assistance with their data collection systems, it was a perfect fit for SitePro in both capability and culture. As a Lubbock-based company founded by Texas Tech alumni, the decision to partner felt like a natural fit on both ends. SitePro’s connection to the university runs deeper than geography; it’s personal – rooted in the same halls and programs that shape today’s petroleum engineering students. SitePro is proud to provide cutting-edge technology to the students building the future of industry.
